Direct Draw was introduced for Windows Mobile in Windows Mobile 5.0, replacing the graphics component of GAPI, which was then deprecated. As of Direct X version 8.0, Direct Draw was merged into a new package called Direct X Graphics, which extended Direct3D with a few Direct Draw API additions.
Direct Draw provides device independence through the Direct Draw driver.Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager, the integrated data management tool for Creo Elements/Direct Drafting, eliminates the need for manual design data management.Customized for highly iterative design environments, Creo Elements/Direct Drawing Manager organizes 2D CAD data and associated files within a central database, allowing you to ensure design integrity, work with up-to-date revisions of design data across the team, and safeguard against accidental data loss. When the CPU is not busy, the Windows Graphics Display Interface (GDI) updates the video display. If the CPU is busy, the DCI driver allows an application to send update information directly to the video adapter.
