  1. As a small note if the HW fire wall is on, then turn off any software based firewall protection on the computer it`s self, two fire walls can conflict and cause cut off of downloads ect or lag, speed limitation when downloading ok. Check the conditions related to the firewall, options like IP flood protection can be turned off. If you are using steam to download games, or updates, in the port forwarding section of the router menu set up the ports that steam uses for data transmission. Steam Client This one : UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive (Game client traffic) This one : TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads) UDP 27015 to 27030 inclusive (Typically Matchmaking and HLTV) UDP 2706 (incoming, for In-Home Streaming) TCP 2707 (incoming, for In-Home Streaming) UDP 4380 As you can see in the list there are ports that in some routers need to be set up to avoid the router cutting the download,or updates of mid downloading ect.
