Xmobar stuck on updating

Over the years, I’ve developed a small set of tools that I cannot live without when coding.Usually this means a Linux environment with XMonad as my windows manager.None of the xmonad keyboard shortcuts will then work.Basically, I’m stuck within the window I was working in at the moment the error occurs. You need the ghc compiler and xmonad window manager installed in order to use these extensions. For installation and configuration instructions, please see the xmonad website, the documents included with the xmonad source distribution, and the online haddock documentation.

I believe the syntax is correct ( does not work either).

It turns out that having XMonad on OS X is a reasonably well documented practice.

Nevertheless, there are still differences in my case that I feel like to write down.

I only have OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) on the i Mac, and although Apple still pushes updates from time to time, some software on it is no longer current, including .

To get a proper X11 and an reasonably up-to-date Unix environment on OS X, one has to use systems such as Macports or Fink.

we could try to throttle the check period in cases where no network is available, even if that's a bit clumsy and inefficient, but it's not a trivial addition.
